regarding this biopython-gui discussion: BioPerl and BioJava have gui
elements.
In Biojava they include genome-browser like lines, where you can display
features of various kinds (main part). Other parts display proteins or
transcription factor motifs. [It suffers by the way, from little
documentation and is simply too slow.]
In BioPerl it's a whole genome browser (GBrowser) whose gui-part is
included. [fast, relieable]
