I think this is great. I was actually thinking in deprecating simcoal
support soon. So, my suggestion is:

1. Add this
2. Deprecate simcoal (I would take care of that). I think we need to go to
the main biopython list and ask if someone is using this...

But irrespective of the original code, I think this should be added.
