This is normal and expected behaviour from many python file-like handles. In
particular it is normal for handles to network resources, e.g.
>>> import urllib
>>> handle = urllib.urlopen("http://biopython.org/")
>>> print handle.read()
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
...
>>> handle.seek(0)
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
AttributeError: addinfourl instance has no attribute 'seek'
