[Bio-packaging] GNU Guix update

Since June 21st some significant work went into GNU Guix. Of
interest are:

1. A thread on the mailing list started by Malcolm on security for
   (scientific) clusters

2. I am continuing to document how to build an environment for Ruby 
   based on the Nokogiri gem, see
