[EMBOSS] seqret error

Hello--

    I'm getting an error as follows:

$ seqret nt:EF348590
Reads and writes (returns) sequences

   EMBOSS An error in ajindex.c at line 2424:
GetKeys: No keys in node

The nt database is a FASTA file from NCBI, and I used dbxfasta. My 
emboss.defaults entry for the database is:

DB nt [
        type: N
        dbalias: nt
        method: emboss
        format: fasta
        dir: /data/EMBOSS_data/nt
        file: nt.fasta
        indexdirectory: /data/EMBOSS_data/nt
]

    Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
