[EMBOSS] emboss on amd64

Dear Luisa,

This is becoming a more common query so I'll post the answer
to the list. Before compiling EMBOSS 2.8.0 you need to get the
following files:

 ftp://ftp.rfcgr.mrc.ac.uk/pub/EMBOSS/patchfiles/ajfmt.c
 ftp://ftp.rfcgr.mrc.ac.uk/pub/EMBOSS/patchfiles/ajfmt.h

and use them to replace the files in the ajax directory.

Hopefully your compiler will predefine __amd64__ but, if not,
setenv CFLAGS "__amd64__" before configuring EMBOSS.

These modifications have already been added to the CVS
version.
