wilem gelbart complaining that oligomeric repeat and "associated sequence" 
(of ALL *THINGS*) will be lost in Mike Ashburner's transposon notation.

the wiki-like 2nd level approach is to store serverside an
association score for each pair of transposons, which is only
occasionally more than zero, so that biologists don't feel guilty
about chopping transposons up into functional and nonfunctional
constituent parts.

the representation of the association score is

associated{i and j} = present{i and j} if (present{i} and present{j})

in Telegraph object-functional notation

in type construction space,
  "and" is the list concatenation operator

in probability space,
  "and" is the multiplication operator
  "or" is the addition operator
  "if" is the division operator

in score space,
  "and" is the addition operator
  "or" is the exponentiated addition operator
  "if" is the exponentiated subtraction operator
