[BioRuby] Installing Ruby 1.9 on CentOS 5.4

Clues! But quite what is going wrong any why configure failed to
complain is a puzzle.

I came up with a plan B, installing ruby-1.9.2-p290.tar.gz instead.
This worked, and I could run the BioRuby test suite:
