From p.j.a.cock at googlemail.com Fri Apr 3 04:12:54 2026 From: p.j.a.cock at googlemail.com (Peter Cock) Date: Fri, 3 Apr 2026 09:12:54 +0100 Subject: [Biopython] BOSC 2026 - one week left to submit abstracts Message-ID: If you're based in the US, and free to travel to Washington DC, please consider subitting an abstract to the OBF's Bioinformatics Open Source Conference (BOSC) soon. The 9 April deadline now less than a week away! https://www.open-bio.org/events/bosc-2026/ I'm not aware of any of the main Biopython contributors intending to go, and there isn't much to justify a Biopytho Project update talk - but abstracts desrcibing progress in existing open source bioinformatics projects are in scope! BOSC is run as part of the larger ISBM conference, and with thousands of attendees the choice of venue is limited and has to be booked well over a year in advance. The Europe/North America alternation pattern continues for now with Denmark and then Canada in eight years time: ISMB 2026, July 12-16, Washington, DC, United States ISMB/ECCB 2027, July 18-22, Copenhagen, Denmark ISMB 2028, July 23 - 27, Calgary, Alberta, Canada See https://www.iscb.org/conferences-events/about-ismb Peter [Biopython is a member project of the Open Bioinformatics Foundation (OBF), which runs BOSC, and I am the current OBF president]
