Very few bioinformatics books are appropriate for the airplane or beach.
But an exception is the Seven Daughters of Eve by Sykes. It is the story of
how he traced back the mitochondrial lines of most of Europe to seven
women. If you're in a non-technical mood, you can skip to the second half,
for a little paleolithic fantasy where he makes guesses about the lives of
these women. So you may want to pack the book on vacation along with the
John Greshams and Michael Crichtons.
