With the long issues apparently sorted, I'm going to try and do the beta this
afternoon (i.e. in the next few hours). Currently I'm running the unit tests
on Windows with Python 2.4 to 2.7, so far it all looks fine.
You can expect a "trunk freeze" email shortly for the actual release
process.
