Firsly I can confirm my findings in comment 15 also apply on Linux.

Further to comment 16, I also doubt that anybody uses the GenBank martel
expression which test_GenBankFormat.py checks.

Isn't removing this code a little drastic?  We could release Biopython 1.44
with a warning that Martel and some minor parts of Biopython which use it will
not work with mxTextTools 3.0
