[Bioperl-l] Bio:Das 1.11 installation problem

I wrote a small test program to test the environment variables and I have
them:
'SSH_CLIENT' => '157.
'FTP_PROXY' => 'http://
'HTTP_PROXY' => 'http://cache.past
'SSH_TTY' => '/dev/ttys002',
'ftp_proxy' => 'http://
'http_proxy' => 'http://
Using the "-proxy" works, without it doesn't.
(and yes, I export the variables..)
Thanks for any suggestions.
Bernd

Dumb question, but are you exporting the variables after you set them?
FTP_PROXY=http://...
HTTP_PROXY=http://...
export FTP_PROXY HTTP_PROXY
