[Bioperl-l] Installation problem

Linux: Bioperl was installed using root privileges.
Tried using the first script, from:
http://bioperl.org/Core/Latest/bptutorial.html#i_2_quick_getting_started_scripts
Internet is connected and is accessible.
 I got the following reply.

then in ppm..

ppm> search Bioperl
searching in active Repositories.
no matches for 'Bioperl' ; see 'help search'

Where am not going wrong..please point out the experiences.
