[Biojava-dev] performance optimization

Hello there, everyone.

I'm interesting in assisting with BioJava development.  My specialty is
performance optimization of Java software, including concurrency and
garbage collection.

Will be useful for BioJava?  I will need some guidance because I'm not
familiar with the codebase, but other than that, I'm pretty independent.
