[Biojava-dev] GSoC - BioJava File Parsers question

I've finished the code exercise, and now I'm looking into the actual
project at
http://biojava.org/wiki/Google_Summer_of_Code#New_File_Parsers_for_BioJava.
My question is, what do the listed websites have to do with file parsers?
Uniprot and Genbank appear to be databases, and HMMR3, PHYLIP, and MrBayes
seem to be biosequence analysis tools. How do these fit in with the project?
