Hi,

I've re-written the introductory paragraph at http://bjv2.derkholm.net/ 
to better express what Thomas said. BioJava is a great piece of 
software, but bjv2 gives us an opportunity to do some realy exciting 
things with data integration that were just not an issue when 
bioinformatics was all about genomics and we where designing biojava.

As Thomas said, the Biojava 1.* series isn't going away any time soon. 
But, once bjv2 is out of alpha, you may find that is does some of what 
you need better.
