The issue is that the modelling atempts in bio* have sometimes turned into
protracted "navel gazing" exercises. Working directly in SQL has lead to a
useful & working system quickly that solved immediate problems for users.
If you're dissatisfied with this, consider it extreme programming & that
this SQL implementation is the requirements gathering & understanding
phase.
