From pmr at sanger.ac.uk Wed Oct 21 15:43:18 1998 From: pmr at sanger.ac.uk (Peter Rice) Date: Wed, 21 Oct 1998 19:43:18 GMT Subject: EMBOSS alpha test release Message-ID: <199810211943.TAA23273@unst.sanger.ac.uk> Welcome to the EMBOSS mailing list. I have put the first public release of EMBOSS on our FTP server: ftp://ftp.sanger.ac.uk/pub/pmr/emboss/dist-alpha-00c.tar This version includes the core sequence reading and has many internal changes to the libraries. Databases can now be defined and used. Many other features are nearly complete. I will add installation and developers guides to the Web pages tomorrow (Thursday). I will be on vacation next week, and will then get on with documentation for the libraries and developers guides, plus more of the workshop-related tasks. There are still gaps in the command definition file syntax, but if you send me suggested additions for any applications you need to develop I promise to make them top priority (which means ready within 2 days).
