I think that is what my Mac OS X 10.7 Lion machine has - not checked yet.

Xcode covers a *lot* of stuff, including a GUI for editing source code,
system library files for compiling code, and compilers themselves
(for C, C++, etc).

Normally I would use the Mac OS  X command line via the "Terminal"
application, also under  /Applications/Utilities, but getting to a command
line prompt via X11 instead should work.
