[BioPython] Any programming project?

Greetings,

1. Does anyone have any tasks or projects that I can tackle on volunteer
basis? I need more "experience" in this Bioinformatics area. :-)

The only thing that I've done is to write scripts to download 160 files
of Nucleotide and Protein sequences (in FASTA format) from GenBank.
This came out of request from a Usenet poster who, an undergrad, were
downloading 160 x 2 files of HIV1 from
    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/PMGifs/Genomes/35268.html
    (click "160" on HIV1 line)
for his Prof. He got tired of manual clicking.

2. I am aware of FASTA format. Are there other data formats? Perhaps,
converting from one format to another may be the best way to get my
feet wet.

	Yours truly,
