Good news!

We've been accepted for a lightning talk, details below (with URL replaced
with XXXXX) including the reviewer's comments.

We have until 15 June to revise the abstract, which at this rate might talk
about a new logo too.

Also early June might be a nice goal for Biopython 1.70?

Peter

Subject: Congratulations! Your abstract is accepted for a lightning talk at
BOSC!
To: Peter Cock <p.j.a.cock at googlemail.com>

Dear Peter Cock,

On behalf of the Bioinformatics Open Source Conference, we are pleased to
inform you that an abstract on which you are an author (40, Biopython
Project Update 2017) has been chosen for a lightning talk at BOSC 2017.
Lightning talks are 5 minutes, with a bit of additional time allocated at
the end of the whole session for questions.

All BOSC speakers are also welcome to present posters, so please indicate
on the reply form whether you want to present a poster. This year, ISMB is
charging us for posters, so please be sure you are committed to presenting
a poster if you say yes.

Please let us know by May 16 whether you accept our invitation to speak
(and perhaps also present a poster) at BOSC 2017 by filling out this
response form:

XXXXX

If we don’t hear from you by May 16, we will assume you are declining the
invitation to present your work at BOSC.

To attend BOSC 2017, you will need to register for ISMB/ECCB 2017 (
https://www.iscb.org/ismbeccb2017-registration). You can register for the
full ISMB/ECCB (July 21-25) or just the first two full days (July 22-23),
which is when BOSC will take place. The deadline for discounted early
registration is June 15.

If you want to make any changes to the abstract that you submitted, you
will have until June
15 to upload a revised abstract at https://easychair.org/
conferences/?conf=bosc2017

We have included the reviewers' feedback on your abstract at the end of
this message. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Congratulations! We hope to see you in Prague!

Sincerely,
   Program Committee, BOSC 2017

----------------------- REVIEW 1 ---------------------
PAPER: 40
TITLE: Biopython Project Update 2017
AUTHORS: Sourav Singh, Christian Brueffer and Peter Cock

----------- Review -----------
The abstract describes recent improvements to the Biopython project,
including a transition in license. It would be nice to hear a little
detail about the licensing change, including why and any challenges faced
during the transition. Developers in the audience are also likely to be
interested in the approach to continuous integration.

----------------------- REVIEW 2 ---------------------
PAPER: 40
TITLE: Biopython Project Update 2017
AUTHORS: Sourav Singh, Christian Brueffer and Peter Cock

----------- Review -----------
Singh et al. are presenting the 1.69 release of Biopython.

Biopython is a library for biological computation in Python and an OBF
member
project. I believe that the project updates delivered at the BOSC
conferences
are always worth their time, as they showcase a really well running
scientific
OSS project.

----------------------- REVIEW 3 ---------------------
PAPER: 40
TITLE: Biopython Project Update 2017
AUTHORS: Sourav Singh, Christian Brueffer and Peter Cock

----------- Review -----------
Sourav Singh and the entire BioPython community did a tremendously good job
over the last year and BOSC is the ideal place to present this.

I think the mixture of presenting features, but also infrastructure work is
great for a talk and will benefit the BOSC community.

Thanks for submitting!
Bjoern
