Also eyecharts (like sequence logos, but in a grid), and graphical rendering
of HMMs as state diagrams could be useful.

There's some Python code for rendering logos at
http://code.google.com/p/weblogo/ - maybe they'd like to contribute, or the
code could be adapted?
