[Bioperl-l] AlignIO po format broken?

When I run the tests AlignIO.t dies when writing an alignment in po 
format, with a message that is almost as uninformative as it can 
possibly get:

main::(t/AlignIO.t:328):        $status = $strout->write_aln($aln);
   DB<1>
Illegal instruction

This is on MacOSX 10.2.8, perl 5.6.0. Does anyone have any clues? Does 
anybody else have the same problem? (This test used to run fine ...)
