[Bioperl-l] make test on perl 5.8

All tests pass for me except:

gd 1.8.4 is installed
DB_File 1.805 is installed

Most Perl modules recommended by BioPerl 1.0.2 are installed. When I did 
  "perl Makefile.PL", the only complaints I got were these:

     External Module Ace, Aceperl,
     is not installed on this computer.
     The Bio::DB::Ace in Bioperl needs it for access of ACeDB database

I'm using a plain vanilla Perl 5.8.0 that I compiled on RedHat 7.3 from 
the source distribution. I will supply the gory details (perl -V) if 
anyone needs them.
