Caroline,

The way to do it used to be SynChron
ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/software/unix/SynCron
but that was a long time ago. 

I am out of touch. Send a mail to support@ebi.ac.uk
and ask them.

Or ask your national EMBnet node, they are doing this all the time.
INFOBIOGEN is running the French EMBnet node and have SWISS-PROT
at ftp://ftp.infobiogen.fr/pub/db/swissprot/
